Data Deletion
Hudara is a WhatsApp customer messaging platform used by businesses (our "clients") to communicate with their own customers. If you've messaged a business that uses Hudara and want your conversation data deleted, here's how.
For a business's customer
Contact the business you messaged directly (the business owns its customer relationship and data) and ask them to delete or anonymize your record. If you don't know how to reach them, message the WhatsApp number you were messaging and ask — or contact us at privacy@hudara.io with the phone number you used and the business's name, and we'll forward your request to them within 5 business days.
When the business anonymizes your record, we:
- Permanently remove your name, phone number, and email from your contact record. Notes and messages the business wrote may still mention you, and the business can delete those on request.
- Keep only anonymized order totals and activity counts the business needs for accounting and reporting — never anything that identifies you.
- Your message history is kept for as long as the business keeps its Hudara account, unless the business deletes your record.
A plain delete only hides your record and can be undone by the business, so ask the business to anonymize your record if you want your details removed for good.
For a business using Hudara
Any team member with the right permission can delete or anonymize a customer record from Customers → select a contact → Delete. Delete hides the record and can be restored. "Anonymize instead" permanently scrubs the name, email and phone number while keeping order totals for your own records. Both take effect immediately. Use Anonymize to honour a customer's deletion request.
Closing a Hudara account
To close your account, email privacy@hudara.io from an admin address. We delete your workspace data from live systems within 30 days of a confirmed request. Backups are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. You can request a copy of your data before closure.
